Frequently Asked Questions
At Live Burden Free, your massage is more than simply working on tight muscles. I take a whole-body approach to help you release physical tension while creating a calming, relaxing experience for your mind and nervous system. Each session is customized to what your body needs that day and may incorporate therapeutic massage, Reiki, cupping, heated bamboo, hot stones, or other techniques when appropriate.
I do not offer traditional deep tissue massage. Instead, I use therapeutic techniques to address areas of tension and restriction without relying on excessive pressure. My goal is to work with your body rather than force it to relax.
Reiki is a gentle energy-based practice that I incorporate into your massage to encourage relaxation and a sense of calm. You don't need to have any previous experience with Reiki or have a specific belief about it to enjoy your session. It's simply another way I create a peaceful, restorative experience for you.
We'll begin with a brief conversation about what brought you in, what you'd like to focus on, and anything important I should know about your health or comfort. From there, I'll customize your session based on your needs. I'll check in with you throughout the appointment to make sure you're comfortable.
Your appointment length includes your complete massage experience. For example, my 75-minute massage includes approximately 65 minutes of hands-on bodywork and 10 minutes of relaxation/rest time.
You will undress only to your comfort level. You will remain professionally draped throughout your massage, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered. You are always welcome to communicate what makes you feel most comfortable. For Kinetic Chain Release- you will be fully clothed so it is important to wear comfortable clothing you can stretch in. No dresses, jeans or skirts please.
Of course! Please communicate with me throughout your session. Your comfort is important, and pressure can be adjusted at any time. You should never feel like you have to tolerate pressure that is uncomfortable or painful.
MediCupping uses specialized cups to create negative pressure on the tissues rather than applying traditional downward pressure. It can be incorporated into your massage when appropriate and may be used to address areas of tension and restriction.
